Sally Dewar, Chair, NZ Sculpture OnShore Ltd.
We are very excited about the upcoming 2016 NZ Sculpture OnShore, our 11th biennial event.
Overlooking Rangitoto , on the stunning clifftop site at Devonport, we will be showcasing the sculptural works of over 90 NZ Artists and once again staging our unique Children’s Sculpture Exhibition in the historic underground fort. We are indebted to all the artists who are contributing so freely of their time and creative energy to bring us this this large scale, inspirational and thought provoking exhibition.
We are delighted to welcome our new Curators Ross Liew and Anna Hanson who will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective to the event programming which is sure to delight and engage both our loyal supporters and new visitors.
There will be plenty going on over the 10 day exhibition, with the Schools' Education Programme Tours and the weekend Family Trail and "sculpture in progress" activity for children. The Gallery shop will be open daily alongside The Officers Mess Café serving delicious morning and afternoon teas and lunch options. Guided tours will be offered daily.
We are most grateful to our philanthropic Patrons and to our Corporate Sponsors, Hesketh Henry, Harcourts Cooper and Co and Fisher Funds Management for their ongoing support of both the arts and the cause. They enable us to fulfil our aim of raising much needed funds for NZ Women’s Refuge to support the amazing work they do with women and children living in fear of domestic violence and seeking to make fresh starts in their lives.
Over 200 Friends of Women’s Refuge Trust volunteers make the staging of this ambitious event possible and we are indebted to them for their wonderful enthusiasm, hard work and commitment.
We look forward to seeing you from the 10- 20th November for what is sure to be a fabulous day out and a memorable experience.
