Raymond Herber lives and works at Iron Ridge Quarry Sculpture Park which is nestled in the hills overlooking North Canterbury’s Waipara Valley. He was born in Christchurch in 1971; one of seven children from a European immigrant family of artists. Steel and stainless steel are Herber’s medium of choice. His work encompasses small-scale intimate studies of moments suspended in time, whimsical interactive and kinetic pieces as well as large scale private and public sculpture. Many examples of the sculptor’s work can be seen at the Iron Ridge Quarry Sculpture Park which is open to the public on Sundays over the warmer months of the year or by appointment.
