What inspires your art practice?
I am inspired by the patterns in nature and the play of natural light on these forms. My work is centred on the cyclic nature of life and humanity’s interconnectedness.
What materials do you work in?
Corten Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Concrete and Recycled Hardwoods.
Describe your artwork for NZ Sculpture OnShore 2021
At a time when the world seems beset with one crisis after another, this sculpture is a reminder that the sun will still rise and fall. We can get caught up in fear about our futures and shame at our pasts and this disconnects us from our true strength. When we become present, then like the sun we are powerful beyond measure.
