What inspires your art practice?
I have always enjoyed the challenge of bringing a very cold, hard material to life - heating, forging and shaping it into something that no longer resembles the material I started with.
What materials do you work in?
Copper, Steel, Bronze, Corten steel and Stainless steel.
Describe your artwork for NZ Sculpture OnShore 2021
Gateway is a continuation of my interest in organic shapes and forms. I designed this work with a forest entrance in mind,
I wanted it to be a work that welcomes people in the same way tree canopies form a doorway into a bush track or walkway.
Where are the public most likely to see your artworks outside of NZSOS?
Public works in The Auckland Botanic Gardens, Mairangi Bay and Torbay in Auckland.
