What inspires your art practice?
It is predominantly the infinite beauty and variety of nature that triggers ideas, that
I then aim to translate into abstract form. Doing that, I always try to provide an uplifting and exciting experience through the visual and emotional presence of my work.
What materials do you work in?
I am open to using any material that feels right for the project. Predominantly I use mild steel, corten, stainless steel, bronze and copper.
Describe your artwork for NZ Sculpture OnShore 2021
The design was inspired by a game of hide and seek with the kids. In this version of the game, a desirable object is hidden and the seekers are guided towards finding it by words like: colder - warmer - hot- hot-hot. The words hot-hot-hot are also incorporated into the piece but it requires some creative searching to discover them.
Where are the public most likely to see your artworks outside of NZSOS?
My work is represented in private collections in New Zealand, the Netherlands, France and the United States.
