Accessibility and Inclusion Programme
NZ Sculpture OnShore is committed to making our event accessible to everyone and to deliver an excellent day out and a great experience for all ages and abilities. First time art event visitors can experience and engage with the sculpture in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The program includes:
- Interactive/tactile sculptures
- Family Adventure Trail
- Chauffeured Golf Carts and Wheelchairs
Visitors with sensory impairments can enjoy and experience some of the sculptures in the exhibition through touch and sensory engagement. The sculptures are located in accessible areas, to maximize the arts experience.
Family Sculpture Trail
In order to give parents and children an easy introduction to contemporary NZ visual art and to enables young children to participate in a meaningful, enjoyable activity, we provide a Family Adventure Trail Map. This is specifically designed with information aimed at children’s level of interest making the event as much for them as for their parents.
Families can also visit Schools Sculpture Exhibition in the historic underground fort. Our event provides a rare opportunity for the public to gain entry to this historic building and families with young children will enjoy both the historic and artistic aspects of this experience.
Fort Golf Carts: Visitors with access and mobility needs can enjoy and experience sculpture located in specific areas of O Peretu Fort Takapuna, using the onsite electric golf carts. NZSoS drivers will take visitors around the exhibit. There will be a blackboard on site for guests who would like to book a golf cart.
Fort Wheelchair: Wheelchairs will be available on a first come first serve basis for visitors with access and mobility needs to use during their visit. Please go to the exhibition site office.
